Seven decades of investigation, and the most intensive drilling programme in the district’s history
The Karatag Project has drawn geological interest since the 1950s. State-led teams mapped, sampled and drilled the district for decades before Multinational Mine Group acquired the licence.
A long history of investigation
Government geological expeditions carried out the earliest work, followed by decades of further drilling, trenching and underground development under successive state bodies. By 2021, this had produced a regional geological map, a 3D deposit model, and an initial reserve estimate.
Our own exploration programme
Since taking on the project, we’ve run one of the most intensive drilling campaigns in the district’s history:
- Over 300,000 metres of diamond drilling across 1,390+ drillholes to date
- 90,418 metres across 230 diamond holes, February to December 2023
- 144,189 metres across 542 diamond holes (mostly at Mezar), plus 1,518 RC blast holes, January 2024 to April 2026
This work underpins the resource and reserve estimates verified by AMC Consultants, and continues to extend known mineralisation at Karasay, Karatagata and Mezar.
